I wanted a suggestion: with which software can a bat be animated, starting from a photo?
Hi. I don´t know what photo you´re going to use, but my first soft would be Photoshop to cut the bat silhouette and/or separate wings from body. Then import Photoshop file with every layer to After Effects soft to make the animation. Once inside After Effects, plugins to use depend on what kind of motion you want for the bat.

What alternative to after effects?
I can tell from my experience, and After Effects is my software to animate. Sorry, I have no other alternative, I could say Flash for simple animation, but I don´t know if you will get the same result instead of using After Effects.
Moho 12, or CrazyTalk Animator could be used too.
