I’ve been looking at different ways to display featured posts on the front page of my site. I’ve seen the News Code theme

and wondered which plugin is in use for the featured posts? Is it actually a plugin or a custom, theme specific job?

If the latter are there any commercial / free plugins that can do something similar?
