What is your mastering chain?

Lets share our mastering chain. I mean - what plugins we use for final mastering of our music. I believe, it also depend on genre. For most of my track i use Cakewalk linear phase mutlibend and EQ, Cytomic Glue or Golden Peak Pressor and Invisible limiter. So my usual mastering chain looks like this - iZotope Imager - Cakewalk Multibend - Cakewalk EQ - Golden Peak Pressor - Invisible Limiter. Or like this - iZotope Imager - Cakewalk Multibend - Cakewalk EQ - The Glue - Invisible Limiter

Fabfilter ProQ2 >>> Slate VMR Revival >>> Slate VBC FG-Grey >>> Brainworx Digital V2 >>> Waves L2

It seems correct name for this topic - tell me your mastering chain and i will tell you who you are

P.S. Very interesting set of plugins, deserving further study.

Britson buss - the glue - sometimes vtm - aom limiter

depends on how close the mix came out…for a quickie, just ozone6. when i spend a lot of time on it (or have serious deficiencies to make up for, haha), any combination of the following, depending on need (though probably no more than 6 of these at once): uad cambridge, uad bx digital v2, uad dangerous bax eq master, maag eq4, uad precision eq, uad ampex atr102 or slate vtr, uad precision multiband or fabfilter pro-mb, uad 4k ssl g or slate vbc, uad precision maximizer or slate digital fg-x, waves L1, L3 or fabfilter pro-L…phew.

Logic Pro 9’s standard plugins:
Linear Phase EQ - Multiband Compressor - Stereo Widener - Exciter - Adaptive Limiter

Too poor to buy plug-ins…

Fab Filter pro Q 2 - Cytomic the glue(or waves ssl buss compressor) - ozone 6 exciter(or noveltech character) - SPL Vitalizer - Fab Filter Pro L

Obviously depends entirely on the subject matter and this is not all I use, but I have a few regulars - Fabfilter ProQ2 almost always makes an appearance, as does Fabfilter MB, often Slate Digital VBC, and Fabfilter ProL is my limiter of choice… seems I’m a bit of a Fabfilter fanboy!

There’s nothing wrong with Logic’s plugins, don’t worry!

Good ears and stock plugins are better than bad ears and expensive plugins!

Limiter. Sometimes a little bit of EQ and exciter. Not too much, cause usually most of the job already done at mixing stage.

I like the Voxengo Harmonic EQ -> Polysquasher -> Multipressor -> Elephant, but sometimes I find Logic’s EQ -> Compressor -> Multipressor -> Limiter will do just fine.

Good ears are the most important thing

Usually just limiter, sometimes EQ… Do most of the work at the mixing stage where I use a variety of eqs and compressors

Recently i did this chain : 1. EQ high pass filter at 30hz, 2. Slate digital virtual mix buss, 3. Waves Vitamin, 4. Waves LinMB, 5. Waves VEQ4, 6. Sonnox oxford limiter

Fabfilter q2, fabfilter L and MB, Sony pre or Ozone6.

Good mix -> TRacks (EQ + Comp. with Exciter + Limiter) -> Export

Ozone 5. I dont know a lot about mastering. I usually choose a preset and tweak from there. I must be doing something right though because sales are happening and people are telling me on Soundcloud that it sounds good. I wish i knew more. Are all your plug in chains just combinations of what Ozone has…meaning like Ozone has Eq,etc everything in it already…so for those who dont use Ozone…you are using a combination of many different plug-ins? Thanks.

Yes. O5 is nice, I use their exciter now and then, especially nice on vox.
