What does extended license of a theme means?

Let’s say, I have a software product that I charge my customer for.
I want to setup a new separate WordPress (product is not WordPress based) installation, which will serve as a documentation/guide + blog for my product.
Now, do I have to buy an extended license in this scenario or a simple license would be enough?

For your case, when you build only the documentation on a Themeforest theme/template, if you make this documentation available only online, the Regular license is fine. (the Extended license becomes mandatory when you include that item in your item and you make it available for download)
