As part of my work from away time in Bosnia and Serbia I’m trying to actively connect to the Envato community here. Over a week ago there was the Belgrade meetup (forum post still to come) and yesterday I made my way to Banja Luka, Bosnia’s second largest city to meet the fine folks at New Movement.
New Movement is a full-service agency with a presence in 11 countries across the Balkans. The office I visited includes some 15 people, including project managers, client managers, designers and one developer. Their work includes television ads, billboard design, poster design, web design, marketing campaigns and more. Here’s a taste of some of their projects:
Recently they have worked with banks, breweries and retail stores. Clients include Nova Banka, UniCreditBank Banja Luka, Nektar, Banjalučka Pivara, Carlsberg, Danone, Milsped, and my personal favourite Jaffa cakes.
Most of their work is completely custom-made. When they require creative assets, they opt for Fotolia for photography and ThemeForest for ready-made themes. An example where they used ThemeForest was on the http://www.milsped.com/ project.
Igor Karanović (web developer) was tasked with turning a design concept into the live website.
He opted for EXCEPTION, a responsive Joomla template citing that the item rating (Igor sorts the search results by Best Rating right away), customisability and richness of features as the most important factors when looking for a theme.
And the final product:
Many thanks to Srdjan and Igor and the rest of the team at http://themeforest.net/user/newmomentba for welcoming me and showing me a glimpse of their world and how Envato Market fits into it.
