US PROs don't collect mechanical royalties!

This is a friendly reminder that PROs in the USA do not collect mechanical royalties. That’s why, if you’re with BMI or ASCAP or SESAC, you should find a service which will collect them for you, even retro actively. I suppose Songtrust is doing this. You can also check MLC but they manage only US mechanicals and believe me, that you are interested more in European mechanicals.

I am talking about big mechanical royalties, including streaming and social media.

@RedOctopus Thank you for the info! Will MCPS work with BMI as well? I plan to move to PRS in future. It would be good to enable my previous works to collect mechanical royalties.

Yep, it looks like PRS is the best PRO for us now because they have MCPS and deals with online services.
