Urgent Request for Clarification Regarding Item Disable

Why was our item disabled without prior notification or information? It seems the team may have been unavailable or focused solely on customer support rather than assisting authors on this platform.

We uploaded our item in the Flutter → Template category, so what exactly constitutes a template? Can someone clarify the elements that define a template? We invested over 10,000 hours of work, yet the Envato team disabled our item in mere seconds without reviewing the details. We strive to offer excellent solutions to our buyers, but it’s disheartening that the Envato team seems indifferent to authors. Attached is a screenshot clearly indicating that the template was published in the template category. What went wrong? We fail to comprehend how the Envato team operates, abruptly disabling items without formal warnings or addressing issues.

This morning, we received an email from Envato regarding the disabling of our item. They requested that we add a clear warning stating that the item is solely a template without any functionality, and also include the word “Template” in the title. But why is this necessary? What is the significance of categorizing our item under Flutter → Template? Why did we place the template in the template category if our item was still disabled?

@KingDog @Will4490

Just Add one line to the title and the some places in the description:
… Networking App Template

It’s not good enough. It has to be clear for the all of the items what it is for to prevent issues and refunds. Probably your item has been purchased few times by the people who thought it’s an APP ( not template ) and they probably contacted Envato support. That’s why your item is disabled and only need to do just add few lines of description/words as the “reviewer” suggested.

@KingDog or @Will4490 probably will suggest the same thing. I don’t understand why you’re taking this small problem too serious…

PS: The thread is about disabling the item, it’s not removing the item. If you see my point, words matter.

Dear @ki-themes ,

Thank you for your understanding, but it seems you may have missed my point.

  • Why was the item disabled without prior notice or a formal warning? Is this how they typically treat authors? How do they expect authors to proceed when items are disabled? We are always prepared to make immediate updates if necessary.
  • What is the significance of the app category, considering we uploaded the item in the template category?
  • Shouldn’t authors be contacted if a customer mistakenly purchases an item? Why are they solely relying on the item category and demo?
  • Disabling items shouldn’t be Envato’s default approach. They need to understand the situation better. Why does it seem like they are neglecting or not prioritizing author concerns?

Hi @Zozo_Studio,

With respect your Item Title is very confusing. Customers can be confused and can think it is a Full APP.

As we can see In the Parent category Mobile you will find Flutter but Flutter can be any one of the Full APP, Template, UI Elements, etc. Maximum Customers will browse Mobile => Flutter or just use direct search. When they find your item they can think it is the Item they are searching for and will purchase but after downloading, they can get wrong. Because your Item Title does not have a clear definition of the Item functionality or nature.

Item Title and Description must have a clear definition of what the Item is! and It is mandatory/required.

So, you should update your Item Title according to the email suggestions. Otherwise Envato review team will not active your item for sale.

Thanks

  • This is the warning. Formal warning. ( It’s not rejected, it’s disabled )
  • You need to make sure the item name and the purpose is visible on the item description page as well on the item
  • I’m not saying this is the exact case but it could be ( refund )
  • Technically, you’re not following the item naming rules so they have rights to disable it.

Again, I’m not sure why you’re fighting with this small issue. Just change the name/title and re-upload, you can solve the problem within less than a minute.

Dear @mgscoder

I understand the need for quality control, but I’m concerned about Envato disabling trending items without prior notice. This leads to significant sales losses and wasted development time. Couldn’t a simple email requesting a title update be a more efficient solution? Disabling an item and causing a 10-15 day review period seems excessive.

Could you please clarify the exact criteria for the ‘Flutter → Template’ category? This will help prevent future misunderstandings.

Additionally, I’m experiencing an issue with buyers from India requesting refunds and then disputing the purchase even after receiving the source code. Could Envato provide better protection for sellers against this type of behavior?

Thank you for your time and consideration

There are no conflicts or team-related issues, but we wonder why they aren’t directly collaborating with us via email or any support channel to minimize time and user engagement.

  • While we acknowledge their value to us and recognize it as a beneficial platform for everyone, it would be appreciated if they could send us a formal email before disabling an item.
  • We understand how to name the product title and description, but if a user is dissatisfied with the product, they go through the refund process. We question why Envato’s team proceeds to resolve their queries and provide refunds.

Envato do not work in this way. If Envato quality team can find any issue of an Item then they make Soft disable the item and send an email notification to it’s author to make necessary changes. Envato do this for maintaining quality of the market.

Item Information and Metadata Requirements

Please check the following to get details about Item Title, Descriptions, and Tags.

ThemeForest Item Title Guidelines:

Your title is the first thing a potential buyer sees, so it’s important to be informative, concise and professional. Include the most relevant information only; a title made up of vague advertising buzzwords is less effective than one that is clear and descriptive.

A sales reversal occurs when a purchase is reversed by the payment provider (eg. payment gateway or bank) through either a credit card or Paypal account. Reversals are enforced by the payment provider and actioned in accordance with their policies. As an author, your statement will be updated to reflect the reversed transaction.

A sales reversal is not a refund. A refund can only be processed by Envato, according to envato refund policies.

Everything is slow enough at Envato already then adding another “writings” to that would be extremely slow to handle the things at Envato. There’re thousands of authors, not sure how many items there are in total one assume, the support needs to deal with 100 items per day, from 5 minutes, it’s 8 hours and one day job. They need to hire just someone else to do what you ask.

We are not living in utopia.

Search the forum. It’s a long story.
