Uploading and Unzipping on VPC

When uploading zipped theme files to my new VPC (with ANS) and try to unzip

, I get the attached error.

I have spoken to ANS, who came back with the reply below about CRC error. This happens on three different themes, from three different developers, all of which I have bought through Theme Forest. So it’s not down to one specific zip file, but rather it is any theme I buy from TF.

"Looking into this for you it appears that there may be an issue with the data itself as Plesk and the unzip command when run from CLI are showing a CRC error:

WZ91 - CRC Error.

The workaround is to unzip the file locally and FTP the individual theme folder files to the server, but that’s tedious and I do purchase themes weekly from TF so it would be good to get it working again.

Probably server-side issue, another work-around is to extract the files locally and ZIP it again before uploading.

ANS are saying it isn’t server-side and asked me to raise ticket on here.

Thanks for the tip, I can do that temporarily but would ideally like to find the solution.

Hi @byates80,

Make sure you select the “Installable WordPress file only” option. and try to install the theme zip from wp-admin.

If you can open ( extract ) the file on your computer, most likely it’s not “ZIP” file issue.
