Tracking Checkout Conversions & Custom Thank You Page on ThemeForest

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for some insights regarding tracking conversions on ThemeForest. Currently, my products use the checkout process hosted on ThemeForest (e.g., https://themeforest.net/checkout/from_item/1111111111111?license=regular). My goal is to track events like abandoned carts and successful checkouts via Google Tag Manager, along with Meta and Google Ads conversion tracking.

From what I’ve gathered, because the checkout process is entirely managed by ThemeForest, it’s not straightforward to inject custom tracking code or set up a custom thank you page for post-purchase actions. I found the official documentation here: Envato Help Center, but I’m still unsure if there are any workarounds or alternative methods (like server-to-server tracking) that might help capture these events.

Has anyone successfully implemented conversion tracking on ThemeForest’s checkout? Are there any recommended strategies or tips on how to work around these limitations? Your experiences or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your help!

I don’t think it’s possible but you can ask the information from the support.

Tracking conversions on ThemeForest can be tricky since their checkout is hosted externally. One potential workaround is using UTM parameters and tracking referral data in GA4. Additionally, server-to-server (S2S) tracking via Meta and Google Ads could help attribute conversions more accurately. While a custom thank-you page isn’t possible, you might explore post-purchase email tracking or webhooks (if available).
