I am a web designer who works exclusively with talent. I would like to start suggesting some themes to my clients and readers of my blog who are not necessarily looking to have a portfolio website created for them, but rather to create one themselves. This is where I would suggest ThemeForest themes (cha-ching).
I have looked through the themes here (keyword: portfolio) and I found a TON of great portfolio themes to choose from, but I deal with some pretty demanding (talented, artistic) types and they demand ONLY the best!
Would you all be so kind as to suggest to me the best themes that you think would work for my niche? New designs are good too because some of my clients “don’t want another site to look like theirs”. Any feedback is MUCH appreciated!

Well that’s a terrible rule. I wasn’t aware. How am I supposed to find what I am looking for? There is no way I am going to search through the thousands of themes. I don’t have the time. It would be in TF’s best interest to not have this rule. Sales are at stake.

Hi Jason, an alternative would be using the filters in your search; by rating, sales, price, etc…
It’s not ideal, but it will save you some time. Good luck and success with the site.

From this reason i make http://www.theme-city.com/ (for themeforest, graphicriver) and http://www.aedaddy.com (videohive) where you can find only HQ templates from ENVATO marketplaces. I need more time but i hope till 2012 i will have great collection from our marketplaces.

Wow. Great list and totally unbiased. Just what I was looking for. I think I will do like a master list of say 15-20, then review a few individually and spread it all over my blog like I have been an expert on themeforest for years That should be some good spider food, relevant content and even if I don’t get a contract to build a site using the theme; I will still get a commission.

This is EXACTLY the type of theme I am talking about when I say artistic for models, photographers, actors and the like. The sites are not supposed to look like blogs at all, but rather to showcase the product, which in most cases, is my client.
