The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet.

Hi guys,

A few minutes ago I subscribed to Envato Elements and I want to install this theme but it’s saying: “The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet.”

Any ideas? Thank you!

Are you trying to upload the entire .zip file that you downloaded from Elements? That won’t work. You need to first extract that zip file on your computer somewhere, and then there will be another .zip file inside that you can upload into WordPress.

A child theme allows you to apply custom code to the theme without that custom code being overwritten by updates. You will need to install the normal file regardless, but if you know CSS/PHP and want to customize it, then you can install the child theme on top of it.

There will be some documentation in that zip file you extracted as well. It should cover everything regarding installation and the child theme.
