Not an expert but it looks kinda old-skool. Also typography is not good in my opinion.
Yes, @babugadigital I think that your typo not is very good need more information, my idea that you can make a magazine with chef (image, recipe and information about a any food) maybe good sales.
Below image (save google) for example recipe that you can make a design magazine.
You can redesign diferent content, images, information, etc as you idea but not repeat design for all same magazine.
i think because the design it’s not an easy replacement content for user who buy it. Maybe you can explore the design with a concept that easy for user to replace the content like the photo, etc
