The End of Cakewalk

Unfortunately after 30 years my allways beloved favorite DAW will come to an end :frowning:

But I think I´ll stay for years with the last version of it.

I use Z3ta+2 it is the best.

Haven’t used Cakewalk since the 90s when it was made by Twelve Tone Systems. But I’ve heard a few friends who where disappointed in it being discontinued.

I feel for you. I went through the same thing with Opcode Vision. I still have it sitting on my first Mac, ready to fire up for nostalgia purposes. And it starts up just fine when I want to check out songs from my early days

This is quite a normal situation. Old “players” leave the market, come young, more promising and flexible. But it’s always a little regret when an era ends

That is newsworthy, thanks for sharing that, I didn’t know. I started with Cakewalk which became Sonar, that’s where it all began for me. Sad to say I did move away to other software that suited me better, still I cant help but feel a tinge of sadness at their passing. I wish them all well…

Cakewalk by BandLab is here – and it’s totally free
