Thanks Envato

If Envato did not shift its traffic to Elements, sooner or later it would be shifted to another (competitors) websites anyway (remember aggressive YouTube ad campaign by one of the website)…

The people will revolt eventually against the subscription models.
Can you imagine a construction worker being banned from purchasing a hammer,
but forced to “rent” it instead?

These softwares are our work tools,
same way the items we create are the work tools of others.

However, the right to own them is being taken away from us.
Who wants to spend their entire paycheck on recurring payments?
Amazon, Netflix, Spotify, YouTube, Elements, Adobe, Waves, Pro Tools…
and the list just keeps getting bigger.

I can accept at least subscription from companies who offer a complete set of tools, but subscribe to use just say a plugin or two is absurd.

Waves just walked back the move to go subscription only, after a lot of backlash. I only had waves tune and rbass, and there is no way i would subscribe just to access 2 plugins even though an rbass alternative is hard to find.

As far as audio processing i work completely ITB. I learn all the tools my DAW has to offer and couldn’t be happier. I only need Kontakt libraries now. And actually i don’t mind to pay a monthly subscription to use them all
But its offtopic already.
