Once again, I found the perfect track for my project, right here, on AJ. Where else?
So much love for AudioJungle.
So I recently started up a vlog, to document my journey from an employed video editor and VFX artist, to running my own small independent filmmaking business.
This was just last month, so it’s very early days both for my business and for the vlog. There have been ups and downs for both.
However, this week’s vlog entry turned out to be the most personal thing I’ve ever shared online.
So this week I flew out to Australia, leaving my wife and daughter behind. My initial intention was to shoot some upbeat vlog entries in the airport, and piece something together at the hotel.
However, when I arrived at my hotel, I sat down to start editing, and just broke down in front of my laptop. I missed my daughter so much, and I couldn’t get over the feeling that I’d done wrong by her, by disappearing around the world for a week.
So, after I’d sort of cried myself out, I decided to take a new angle. I setup a camera in my room, and quickly shot a new entry for my vlog.
The resulting film is short, at less than 3 minutes, but it’s the most personal thing I’ve ever shared online.
I almost wasn’t going to share it. I slept on it. And the next day (today) I decided to make a few minor tweaks, and share it after all.
I’m so proud of how this turned out. And I’d like to point out that the music, by RockUnitedSound, changed the whole project for me. In fact, it was when I found the music and just listened to it, with no footage, that I broke down in tears. It moved me that much. The wonderful track can be found here:

So I wanted to reach out and say thank you SO much to RockUnitedSound for creating this magnificently empowering piece of music. I can’t thank him/her enough. And I feel like it may have changed the entire direction of my vlogs, moving forwards.
I also wanted to say a big thank you to the entire AudioJungle community in general. Keep doing what you’re doing, guys and girls, You’re all awesome.
