@ symbol shows up as a " on a british keyboard laybout

hi there,

with regards to flash, and using the Key.getAscii method,
why is it that @ symbol shows up as a " symbol using key.getAscii on a BRITISH keyboard layout?,
AND,
if the flash documentation even, it states that pressing SHIFT+2 gives the @ symbol,

have a look at the preview below, a file is being rejected for update because the @ symbol shows up as a " but it works fine on my pc.
