Hello everyone, long time member but new here. I want to ask if anybody receive huge amount of spam emails related to support.
I believe/think 1 of the support site of an author has exploited. I receive 20 emails every 24 hour with a topics of
new user
welcome to support
thank your for ticket
your ticket etc.
ORIGINAL SCREENSHOT WITH USERS EMAIL REMOVED AND REPLACED:
As it’s not good enough, you have included your email to the screenshot to get more junk emails :))
It’s hard to track the information from where especially some of the hosting providers are also selling emails to third parties, no it could be from anywhere.
Based on your screenshot, you’re receiving emails that look like support tickets, even though you didn’t request them. This is likely a phishing scam trying to trick you. Since you’re using cPanel, check if SpamAssassin or other spam filtering tools are available to help block unwanted emails.
You can also try services like Cloudflare Email Routing and SpamExperts, which help reduce spam.
As @ki-themes mentioned, your screenshot shows your email address—be careful when sharing it publicly!
Im trying to improve to block more already have another 213 in spamexperts quarantine. The point I open the topic to see if there is any other user started receive these emails shortly after creating an account to an author support site. already frustrating to create an account for every purchased theme
We also receive spam emails. Spam emails are common, but what you’re experiencing seems to be email bombing. Has this email address been publicly displayed on any websites, or is it only used for creating accounts and support tickets?
Have you checked the email source (email header)? The source contains the real IP address or server that sent the email. The sender’s email may be fake, but the IP address in the source is usually real.
You can check the IP address using any IP lookup website to find the service provider. If you contact their abuse team, they may be able to suspend the account responsible for sending spam emails.
You’re using Roundcube—are you on an older version? There was a known security vulnerability in Roundcube.
Firstly you don’t need to create an account for every purchased theme - from what I am understanding you seem to suggest that you started receiving multiple spam emails shortly after you created an account on an authors support website? Is this correct?
As @baevox has pointed out spam emails are common. I personally have many different email addresses, with different domain name extensions, and I see the same crap emails across them all.
RIGHT HAND CLICK AND DELETE - don’t even bother marking them as spam, or reporting them as spam, it won’t make any difference. As quick as you “block them” with whatever system you use, they will simply get around it.
