I am using BeTheme and on the footer there are icons for different social media.
How can I enter the url to my social media pages to the icons? I have already filled in the links under Theme Options->Social->General, but that do not make the links work in the footer section.

in the mean time you get contact from the theme author you can try in this way:
Navigate to the Appearance > Widgets section and choose widgets for Footer area #1 , Footer area #2 , Footer area #3 and/or Footer area #4 sidebars and there you will find the options.
