Are there any updates to the situation? It would be great to get an update as to whatās happening with the search. Iām not sure about other authors, but Iāve found this change in the algorithm to be extremely destructive to new tracks. Can it be changed back until a better solution can be implemented? Itās too risky to upload any new content because it simply wonāt be seen (under certain titles / terms) in the search at the moment. I really want to move forward but with this situation I feel I canāt do anything but wait until itās fixed - or at least reverted back to the old search, which despite the title-situation, worked perfectly.
It would be great to be able to talk with the staff who are working on the search engine tweaks. Iād love to share some ideas, and help with the process of improving the search so we end up with something that works for everyone.

Also take a look at the Top New Files list. Very scarce, and barely any new tracks.

I think the lever effect also is affected. Where new track shows up all have 2 or 3 sales for a full page

Just look at the popular items pageā¦with the exception of the few recently āfeaturedā files (and the 1 fantastic track from studio89 - that gained traction before the search engine was changed I might add), almost ALL old items with ratings.
New items currently donāt stand a chanceā¦this is VERY BAD.
Please fix this.

I find it hilarious that as soon as they change the search algorithm everyone wants the old one back. With the way this marketplace works, I think there will ALWAYS be controversy around the search algorithm because it works differently for everyone.

Unfortunately, in this case, thatās simply not true. The changes made were very destructive to the performance of new files under a specific set of titles. The issues complained about before weāre not the same as those existing here.
Beforehand the only problem with the search was that we needed to use one-word titles for it to work. Aside from this annoyance, the way the algorithm dealt with files was perfect. Now we face the issue of a results page loaded with pages and pages of old, top selling files with absolutely no chance for new content to be discovered.
The ThemeForest search algorithm has changed recently too in favour of old items from Elite authors. Many of which no longer sell. I made a post about it here: Search Algorithm Favouring Elite Authors

I see what you mean. I guess Iām not selling enough yet to notice a big difference.
All of this discussion around the search algorithm just motivates me to do my own marketing outside of AJ. I donāt want to rely only on the search.

Youāre also not using the more sought after titles - which were the only ones affected in the search. Unfortunately these are the most popular search terms, and they are all badly damaged by the new algorithm. Hoping to see some news soon!
Envato please answer - it is the final version of the search or are working on it? My sales have fallen 4 times. And now all my sales it is only old files.

I always ask myself why customers prefer tracks with a lot of sales? Isnāt it better to buy something unique and fresh for your project? Or maybe Iām missing something? Does somebody have an idea? Iām not talking about search engine here but about customer preferences.
