Sales down 70% from 2018 to 2023 !!! Terrible status! What do you think about the future?

Very sad to see sales completely down. @BenLeong, I am waiting for your reply. I hope your senior team has returned to work since Christmas and New Year are over. Please respond soon, as we need their input to decide on changes to our business plan. Many authors are eagerly awaiting a response from the Envato team.

Iā€™m waiting for an official announcement about closing all marketplace and give authors chance to move all of their items to Element. Happy new year to everyone!

I think thatā€™s only you. The statement was clear from the beginning.

Theyā€™re not gonna do it now. At some point, marketplaces are still getting some traffic from/to Elements.

The answer has already been given. Envato and Shutterstock team does not plan to develop the market. You need promote your items by yourself.

Iā€™ve seen the future and itā€™s beautiful

I was right, it seems. As today, the total is 76,571,911

Another thing, Web.Archive cannot retrieve the data from Envato around 30+ days already.

Is there any issue with the US market? Usually, I sell more items there than in Europe. This month (January) it seems I sold fewer items in the US rather than in Germany. Suddenly it is worth less than a single European country.

Is anyone experiencing the same issue?

I noticed this on my Joomla templates as well, but this has been happening for me starting with last summer.
There was a sudden drop of sales from the US starting with the 2nd half of 2024.
I put it on the US elections.

Traffic is probably low on your items, too. The purchases most likely coming from ā€œexistingā€ buyers.

Iā€™m thrilled to share some exciting news with you all ā€“ Iā€™ve officially reached Level 13 in the Envato Elite Author Program! :confetti_ball:

However, as I celebrate this achievement, Iā€™d like to take a moment to highlight some challenges that have made the journey more difficultā€”and that continue to impact authors striving to reach new milestones:

  1. Competitive Pricing Dynamics: While having pricing flexibility is empowering, the intense competition often pushes authors into a price war, making it difficult to sustain a healthy margin. This not only undervalues the hard work put into creating high-quality items but also poses a challenge for long-term sustainability.

  2. Marketplace Saturation: With so many items available, itā€™s increasingly hard for new or niche products to gain visibility. The crowded marketplace can make it challenging to reach new audiences, which in turn affects revenue growth and progress toward the next milestone.

Due to these challenges, sustaining consistent growth as an author has become increasingly tough. Achieving Level 13 has been a rewarding but demanding journey, and looking ahead to Level 14, I can see how these factors might make it even harder to reach the next milestone.

I share these thoughts constructively, as I believe that addressing these issues could greatly benefit both authors and the broader Envato community. Encouraging sustainable pricing strategies and improving discoverability for items would not only help authors thrive but also enhance the experience for customers.

A huge thank you to everyone ā€“ my customers, fellow authors, and the Envato team ā€“ for being part of this journey. Letā€™s work together to make this platform even better, so we can all celebrate more milestones in the future! :rocket:

Cheers, :clinking_glasses:

Congratulations.

Yes, I agree regarding the price war.
But is what it is.

Just followed you on X.
