Sales down 70% from 2018 to 2023 !!! Terrible status! What do you think about the future?

Almost 3 years of continuous, hard, work.
And (even if I learnt it’s totally pointless to repeat myself) I remember it is potentially available for everyone

There’re some systems already at WordPress.Org or Github ( open source / paid )
You just need to decide which one to use then could improve the coding as you wish.

THank you, could you share the name of the free system?

I didn’t save the links, you gotta search for by yourself.

Thank you

This is just one opinion. My personal perspective from experience.

Sales are dropping, and it’s not hard to see why. Too often, you buy something and it’s either buggy or completely useless. I’ve made several purchases and honestly, I’m getting to the point where I’d rather make things myself or find free alternatives.

Support? Don’t even get me started. I once asked them to remove an item that broke immediately in WordPress. A week of back-and-forth, and they just kept the broken product up. Months later, that same product gets removed - so what was the point of all that hassle?

The product review process is frustratingly subjective. I’ve tried submitting my own products and been flatly rejected. And here’s the thing - every time someone speaks up about these rejections, there are always authors rushing to defend CodeCanyon. Why? More products mean more opportunities for everyone. Look at Amazon - they understand that diversity helps everyone.

To the authors who keep defending the platform no matter what: stop. Constructive criticism isn’t an attack. If the marketplace isn’t working for buyers and sellers, something needs to change. Blindly supporting a system that’s clearly not working helps no one.

This isn’t about attacking the platform. It’s about wanting a marketplace that actually serves its community.

For a while, I have clear about this situation, we as authors have no meaning here. They own the Marketplace, while they want to move all to Element and then close the other Marketplaces, why we are still here and earn some cents? The right thing here is moving to Element if you think you can and encouraging they close the Marketplaces as soon as possible then we can have the alternative place soon. The key factor here, authors don’t have voice, so we can’t change their mind. They already have the decision, they will focus all they have to element. This is their business and they can do what they want. Envato.com is now redirect to Element. I also decided to not upload my best item which our team invested for 4 years. I will sell it on my own website soon.

There definitely needs to be an alternative.

Money is the last thing you need in the self-run shop development process.
It’s all about time + expertise + give people a real reason fore to purchase from you.
