Sales down 70% from 2018 to 2023 !!! Terrible status! What do you think about the future?

I think the Market sales in 2024 are 30% lower than in 2023! I will update the topic chart in 2025 and add the 2024 sales count.

Gonna be around 76,571,819
Edit: As 23rd of December : 76,528,200. I don’t think it’d be reaching that amount.

The market is really dying. Think about alternative income for yourself! My sales are down 40% compared to last year! Even though I’ve released newer products!

I was having good number of sales till May, then it went down to 50% and still going down - as I keep adding new items. The traffic at CodeCanyon is down around 70% ( not sure about ThemeForest )

Would anyone mind to share the traffic at ThemeForest?

  1. No advertising (as always), only one in-product popup and a single anounce e-mail (to customers tracked through my licenses platform) about my shop launch

  2. 90% LCshop sales are from existing customers

  3. My shop licenses start an automated yearly subscription, then, potentially, in 2025 a part of 2024 incomes will be guaranteed

  4. Ignoring the August 2024 boost, October 2024 was my best month since March 2023

In the next months will be interesting to see how things evolve investing a bit in advertising and launching new products. Don’t tell I didn’t ā€œshowā€ you a way to go (since 2022)…

PS: November count is until today (still 2 days to go)

FYI: I included my best product in the Envato Cyber sale to get more traffic, but results are… LOL… I probably would have grabbed more attention shouting from my window. Especially from this Tuesday, the desert.

Gosh, it doesn’t look good. I though the traffic is low at CC especially since ā€œSSā€ but it seems not much difference at TF, too.

Your website offers lifetime updates so what does subscription give you except automatic updates? I doubt this is something people would pay yearly when they can just manually update when they want.

You can’t deny manual updates while selling open-source codes and giving free-trials. Support + automated updates + customers faith in the project are the keys: I learnt that through the statistics collected by my licenses control platform.

Obviously the whole thing works if you have solid products and you keep working on them over time.

If you are lucky enough that your customers want to pay yearly for that, that is good for you.
But my point was, there is no difference between your shop and Envato currently, you can set the same thing on Envato, automatic update only with active support.

Except for the fact

  • you don’t lose 30% + withdrawal fees,
  • you can run marketing campaigns not worrying customers might be moved on other envato products or elements
  • all customers data are owned by you
  • there is an automated recurring payment

Yep, don’t see differences with Envato

Hello @LCweb

i guess you have single product with monthly subscriptions

you might have unlimited products with single owner , but elements is different unlimited products with unlimited authors money gets divided with no transparency so both are different

there should be 2 changes which we said since long

  1. for market do not keep life time free downloads keep six months free support and free update after that if customer want support or free update pay renewal support for download also of latest update

  2. for elements no transparency for author keep downloads between unlimited products but with limited points like 100 points in a week ( 6 points for wordpress , 1 -2 credits for stocks ) users uses credits and author earns

currently many website have elements sharinh model lots of users share single account so this credits also solve it

this both are not major change but also good changes at present required to increase revenue

On top of the licenses control platform I created a WooCommerce plugin allowing me to create a real multi-product shop. If I want I can also create different subscription plans for each product.

Freedom is the key.

I’m still subscribed to this thread so I keep reading you guys: you keep typing and thinking as if Envato Market isn’t a dead shell. Hoping for something that most probably will never come…!

Our team has just done a big theme we ever created. We spent almost 4 years to finish it. We are pendig to upload it to the Marketplace due to this situation. Can anyone suggest us a place or any advice is appreciated :+1:

@LCweb

This is what the authors should do but authors still have ā€œhopeā€ here.
I’m also working on my ā€œsubscriptionā€ system that should be ready by 2025.

What we were paying before ( 30%+ ) to get the new buyers, right now, I believe, 70% or more buyers are returning and there’s not much ā€œnewā€ ones.

You cannot offer ā€œlifetime updateā€ for free when ā€œelementsā€ has a subscription model already. You need to charge for the updates ( +support ) to run your business.

Can you tell me how did you create the license system?

If you want to make some little money on Envato, you should do a theme in less than a week, not 4 years.))) Plus, I would think working in McDonald’s would pay more.)))

I know this. That’s why I don’t want to upload this theme to Themeforest. We invested a lot of money to create this theme so upload to Themeforest is likely throw it to the trash bin :). Now like what you say, Themeforest is worth for the rubbish themes who want to earn some cents.

Almost 3 years of continuous, hard, work.
And (even if I learnt it’s totally pointless to repeat myself) I remember it is potentially available for everyone

There’re some systems already at WordPress.Org or Github ( open source / paid )
You just need to decide which one to use then could improve the coding as you wish.

THank you, could you share the name of the free system?
