(some authors had been adjusted their price, if not, this will be a sale list, not top sellers)
Big teams/companies will win and all the community (small team, companies, individuals) will lose.
BTW @SpaceStockFootage With all respects, I saw you have been working on market different than Themeforest (I think this thread belongs to Themeforest) and thanks for sharing very confidential & sensitive information, but your info will be misleading the market trend of Themeforest (except the ones in the screenshots) that it has been going well.
The market health is not good at all and all possible generated sales have come to the ones who have strong finance (earning) situation.
I worry that the race to bottom has already started for WordPress themes with top sellers reducing their prices. The drop in sales might be correlated to this price drop and more sales to top sellers.
Well, the current “sales’ drop” will be simply NOTHING when compared to the upcoming “WordPress Themes’ Inclusion” to Elements. +Sales numbers on any category are just like a joke. Wrong decisions are killing authors. Simple.
For us last week also dropped for 30%. I presume this week should be the same. For example at our country today is also work free day and a certain part of poeple take one week before holidays off, some week after. Will see. Labour day is comming also so Europ drop in sales sould be expected. The thing thats interesting is that this ups and downs are much more drastic then before and we are also lvl 11.
I think the real reason behind so slow sales is the sale going on for all of the top seller themes. Buyers are flowing there as they are top sellers, have tons of demo included and all in half the price then would anybody want to buy an expensive one niche themes
What’d happen if Envato disable Weekly Top Selling list?
The market will run more naturally base on market demand, not on hype
But it will hurt their pocket, so they won’t do that
How can a new author compete with this??
This will only result in a massive drop of quality.
We only recently joined Themeforest and as a new author, we earn very little on one sale.
We are a very small team and can’t afford extra manpower with Envato’s commission rates. Also Envato’s commission rate info page is very missleading, giving an example of a nonexisting 100$ item.
And why can’t a new author update the thumbnail image without going through the review process?
We are very concerned about the future of this market.
Welcome to the cheapest factory of the world!
I thought it was China but I was wrong, it is Themeforest (Envato) which just took China position.
Congratulation, the genius you-know-who, you guys have done a very great job!
I’m in the same situation with the sales. I have a huge decrease in the last 5 days. Only 1 sale when I used to get 2-3 sales in a day. I don’t know what happens
Yeah, it’s there… but it’s rare I pay attention to what’s in the footer page. I know my way around sufficiently to find what I need, I don’t need Envato to tell me what services exist and whether I need them or not. Others might feel differently, but it’s not like it’s a pop-up that appears on every page or anything… it exists to let people know Elements exists, which I guess is fair enough. You’re not going to spend time and money creating a new service and then hide it away.
I just noticed a strange thing. Even if you click X (Close banner), it will re-appear within only few hours. So one thing its clear, they insist with Envato Elements = This is the most important thing for Envato these days.
As you know, I really hate to say this but the REAL FUN will begin once more CMS added to Elements (You know what I mean) - Elements is NonSense from the ground!
