i dont like changes, especially these kinds of them.
these changes are pretty discriminative. Why? Because the older members, that already collected 200-900 items, will make more money in comparison to the new ones, because the newcomers will have to spend ages to achieve this level.
Every musician has different level of speed. Someone takes 1 week to produce a song, and the song might not still be good for AJ. i can do a song in 3 hours, and spend my whole day trying to make money on Envato, and make several songs a day (for example). So why would i be able to upload only 1-3 songs, when i can upload 10-20 at the same time? this is pure discriminative measures.
All these measures would be good if the review time was 3-7 days. not 18-30 as it is now.
i am afraid, those changes will affect the incomes and growth of Envato market in a BAD way.
I think, restrictions will not lead to something good. As i am from post- socialistic country, i know this very well.
I think, a wise decision would allow the author to upload maximum 1 song per day, even if you wanted to make some changes in the process.
I wanted to work full time with Envato. But those severe changes can affect the fact that i will probably have to find a regular job, it the incomes here will not satisty me. Thanks, Envato
all this is just my observations and my opinion. Forgive me if it differs from yours (adressing this to the people in the forum)
If this will reduce the waiting time to 4-7 days, then it’s cool.
If not, then I see no reason to change.
As for the Standard and Elite authors.
10 items for the Standard authors, including beginners to express themselves…
Actually it’s weird initiative. Instead of cleaning up for the whole bunch of useless accounts with almost anonymous authors and applying composer/producer’s (or other digital media directions) TEST together with PHOTO ID and PASSPORT VERIFICATION. They’re doing harm for hard working people who every day making living through this marketplace. It’s frustrating . Will see what happens next.
t’s a great move, hopefully they’ll follow it up with account ID to cut down multiple account fraud. The market is totally saturated and growing, from a composers point of view, massively each day. However I doubt whether it’s growing from a buyers perspective by anywhere near the same rate.So we can all moan at Envato about the Queue lengths, need for new reviewers etc. and I’m sure if this increase in new tracks was matched with a general increase in sales, Envato wouldn’t hesitate in employing and training new reviewers immediately. They’d want to from a business perspective .
However if Envato’s overall sales from AudioJungle are not particularly increasing, why and how would they pay for more reviewers to keep up with all of this new music, that, generally, is not bringing anything particularly new to the library, just merely diluting what is already there .
Anything that can slow down the ridiculous daily amount of uploads may make authors think about doing something original, rather than creating lots and lots of soundalike tracks .The method of amount of tracks rather than quality and originality is unfortunately prevalent in Audio Jungle.
If you really need to be making and uploading 30 tracks a month, look into spreading your work onto some other library that actually may need it. There still has to be a buyer out there for your music and just because you’ve made 30 tracks in a month does not mean you are owed anything, even more so if your tracks look ( with a generic title ) and sound like everybody elses.
Worse news ever for me. I’ve been trying to publish one new theme each month and now with the 3 month review time i’m only ever going to be able to have 4 themes a year and if one of my themes gets a hard reject im screwed for at least 6 months. Think this is the final nail in the coffin for me
I agree, this is a killer for people like me who have just started doing this full time, one new theme every 3 months isnt enough to make a living and if one gets a hard reject it could be 6 months with out a new theme
