This is a serious issue we’re having, 5 authors so far and who knows how many others will be effected till the end of the day.
Envato staff please take this matter seriously and investigate above mentioned buyer’s account and purchases.
No response so far!
They are mostly in Melbourne so they will be up and at work in a few hours
My suggestion would be to reject these refunds with the strong message that in case of hacking / compromised accounts they must contact Envato Support. These are quite suspicious, therefore, should be handled by support as they can track account IP’s and login locations, therefore, it’s best they handle them.
Treat this as suspicious behavior, reject it, and point them to support. If indeed it was a hacked account Envato will contact you or will reverse the sale.
As an author, there is not much else you can do, although these seem to be the same messages for different authors, so I’d say it’s a major scam. Cheers guys!
Yes, its obvious its a scam by same person. But the main problem now is, ENVATO ALREADY WITHDRAW THE MONEY EVEN BEFORE WE DECLINE THE REFUND REQUEST!
Same here, 4 requests, declined them all and opened a support ticket. This is something between the customer and Envato.

I am really sorry to bother you with my refund request
About a week ago my envato account has been hacked and someone spend all the funds I had in the account purchasing items from the market.
The result is over $2300 spent and 131 items purchased from the market. I haven’t really seen most of the items…
I have reinstalled and secured the devices I login from.
I spoke with envato and they say they can’t refund all the items automatically and it is up to me to open refund request for every item purchased and the author of the item to agree to refund.
Please refund me because I really haven’t done any of the purchases. Someone just stole my account and spent all my money!

If Envato does not personally contact you, be suspicious about this. Reject all messages and request a personal confirmation from Envato. In every case I’ve heard of, when a refund request is processed by the support team, the support team contact the author directly, they don’t ask the buyer to tell the author they said so.
Again. Proceed with caution on these requests. Reject them and request Envato Support handle them. If Envato does not contact you, then you can safely assume it’s a scam!
I just received a similar message:
I did not purchase this item. My credit card information must have been misused and an unlawful purchase must have been made. Please, help me get this amount refunded to me.
Initially I replied that unfortunately they have already downloaded the item but then I read this thread and declined the refund. I’ll also forward this to Envato for investigation.

Ironically he purchased my Analytics extension, and the Analytics shows a suspect visitor from the same city on the same day of the purchase. Anyways maybe this user has a history of refund scams and we can put an end to it.
Well, you can be sure that if they are scammers they’ll get their account terminated faster than they can breath! These things are not tolerated and are solved instantly.
