Hi,
I came across this particular theme Bibliophile on Wordpress.com:
Bibliophile Theme — WordPress.com
I was wondering if anyone here knew of a similar-looking theme elsewhere that I could purchase. I spent hours going through our Themeforest WordPress theme library and couldn’t find one. Perhaps, you know!
Thanks!
Check minimal blog themes but why don’t you use the free version anyway?
WP only offers 1 GB on the free plan. I am not sure if that is sufficient for me, although I am planning to have text-only blog articles the majority of the time. I have my main site on Squarespace now and I thought it was possible to have the self-hosted blog page on the shared-hosting server I have and have it point to my domain. Tech support at both ends told me today that is not possible since the DNS can only point to one server. I don’t want to pay on Wordpress.com because I am already paying for a shared hosting space and a Squarespace subscription. I could use the blog feature on SqSp but not sure if it’s easy to import them over to a self-hosted WP site next year. So, my plan is to go self-hosted in March 2024 when my Squarespace plan expires, and that’s when I will need a theme.
You can download it from WordPress.org ( not .com ) and you can use it on your website for free.
Do you mean the Bibliophile plugin?
UPDATE:
You won’t believe this but at the bottom of the link I sent before (for the theme), there is an option to download the theme for free to use on a self-hosted platform!! Unbelievable I missed that, and now I have the product
Thank you all for your help.
Yes, that was I meant from the beginning
My apologies and thank you.
By the way, I downloaded it from .com and not .org
Hi all,
Another question - how do I remove the footer branding on the template, “This theme was designed with WordPress”, and want to add my own sentence? I took a look at the code but was worried about changing anything.
In your screenshot You have to edit line 22 and the text WordPress with link is coming from line 20. I would like to advice hire a freelancer if you don’t have enough skills on this and make theme customization.
I managed to get this sorted. There is a visual editor in Patterns that allowed me to make the change.
I love this template. It’s simple and I like the fonts.
A new issue: How do I create a navigation bar in this theme? I wanted to put some links in the footer to my Privacy, Terms and Conditions pages etc. In the standard layout of WordPress, there’s usually a button on the dashboard that lets you do this, but this one doesn’t have it. Everything is Patterns and Visual Editors.

Bear in mind that Envato forum is only for general purposes but not for item support.
As @mgscoder suggested, you should consider to hire a freelancer. This item comes outside of Envato and it’s not supported by any authors or users here on the forum.
