Question about review standards for magazine templates

Hi everyone,

I’ve been contributing to Envato Elements for many years, from 2016. and I always do my best to follow the technical and aesthetic guidelines for magazine templates.

Recently, I submitted a new magazine template that was hard rejected. I was surprised, because I compared it to other recently approved items in the same category — and some of them appear to have lower design quality and fewer features.

For the sake of constructive discussion, I’m attaching two preview images:

My rejected magazine template:

An approved Travel magazine template from another author

I’m not posting this to criticize other authors, but to better understand the review process and standards applied. Clearer guidelines would help us all submit work that meets the expectations of the review team.

Could the review team or other contributors share insights on why this might happen and what specific aspects could be improved in my design to meet approval criteria?

Thank you for your time and feedback.

Boris

I think if you improved the cover of your submitted template it would be more likely to be approved. The internal page layouts look good, but the cover page is too simple.

Thanks for the comment.
