Question about restrictions that can be made for plugins before they are activated by users with their purchase code

Hello,

I checked recently the plugin requirements from CodeCanyon https://help.author.envato.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000510603-WordPress-Plugin-Requirements and saw no references to what can/cannot be deactivated from plugin’s functionality before the plugin is activated using the client’s purchase code.

Currently, I have an activation mechanism that enables only automatic updates from WordPress ‘Plugins’ menu after successful activation, and displays a message before activation that ‘Automatic updates for this plugin are disabled, please register your plugin to enable this feature’.

However, because I noticed some recent increase in piracy activity for my plugins, I was thinking on disabling entire plugin functionality before activation - is this allowed?

Any info on this is appreciated.
