Hi guys, I’m curious what is best practice with loudness for stock music? Streaming platforms ask for -14 LUFS but the broadcasting standard is -23 LUFS. So what should you do for your stock tracks? What’s the safest or best option? Thanks!
The range between -9 and -12 depending on genre is a good value I think. Most of the tracks here hit that spot.
I tend to use -8 LUFS, but it also depend on your genre. Cinematic music require more dynamic range, EDM tend to be more compressed.
Loudness War had set value of 9 LUFS unfortunately
Thats the conservative target of a CD master. But there were/are tracks out there, especially EDM and Rock, that are mastered much louder up to -3/4 LUFS or eben above, particularly a lot of remasters in the 2000s.
