Problem with WPBakery and ThemeREX Addons

I installed the Emberly Theme that includes WPBakery and ThemeREX Addons. When ThemeREX Addons is activated, I’m not able to edit the single components in the editor.
There’s always an empty window.

Wordpress: Version 5.2.1
PHP: 7.2
Server: Strato

Thank you for your help.

Contact with your purchase item author @ThemeREX hope they will help you in this issue

Hi Jenny, I’ve had this on various themes on various sites. Sometimes it’s as simple as logging out clearing cache and logging back in again and sometimes you need to make sure all updates are taken. E.G. on another site VC would do exactly as you described if the wp core version was not up to date!!

Good luck…

the best thing to do in this situation is to take a full backup of the site so far then:

  1. clear cache
  2. Deactivate and delete all other themes
  3. Deactivate all plugins except for WP Bakery
  4. Check to ensure that no updates are available

I am having exactly the same issue. If I deactivate the ThemeREX Addons plug in Wp Bakery editor works but them I am missing key elements of the page. Please can we find an urgent resolution as this theme was purchased so that all demo data could be installed for a fast turnaround but the theme does not work as it should as I cannot edit the demo data using the plug in provided with the theme

I have exactly the same Problem

In order to fix the issue, you should edit js_composer.php file from wp-content\plugins\trx_addons\components\api\js_composer folder
Find this piece of code: (approximately, lines 65-87)

// Add div before vc_new_row in the vc_edit_form

if ( !function_exists( ‘trx_addons_vc_edit_form_start’ ) ) {
add_action( ‘wp_ajax_vc_edit_form’, ‘trx_addons_vc_edit_form_start’, 0 );
function trx_addons_vc_edit_form_start() {
if ( !function_exists( ‘trx_addons_vc_edit_form_end’ ) ) {
add_action( ‘vc_edit_form_fields_after_render’, ‘trx_addons_vc_edit_form_end’);
function trx_addons_vc_edit_form_end( $output = ‘’ ) {
$output = ob_get_contents();
$output = preg_replace(’/(<div[^>]*class="[^"]*vc_new_row)/’, ‘

$1’, $output, -1, $count);
return $output;

and replace it with the code from this file -

For further assistance, please contact the author of the theme (Ancorathemes - or ThemeREX - and they will address the issues you got.

Hi @jennymauzi!

Thanks a lot for creating a tread on forum, though it is not the most conventional way. The regular way would be creating a Ticksy ticket, just like @Emily_support has noted!

Big thanks to everyone who helped on this. I am sorry we coult not have reacted faster, as we were attending WodCamp Berlin and had a few meetings with Envato members. :slight_smile:

Warm regards,
ThemeREX Team

So if this is known Issue, how come this was not patched by devs? Like shouldn’t there be update on plugin to fix this issue? That link for code is not working and I’m having same issues, I’m sure other people having problems. I was about to unistall the theme and plugin and move away cause of problems mentioned above. Ticket is from 6 days ago and no update/patch on ThemeRXE addon?

I have the same problem, could you teach me the code please?

$output = preg_replace('/(<div[^>]*class="[^"]*vc_new_row)/', '<div class="vc_new_row_before"></div>$1', $output, -1, $count);

The code is deleted from WeTransfer, how can i have it? I’m facing the same issue.

Here is the link to download the file with the code -

I pasted the code into a file on the server, but it does not work - there is still a plugin conflict.

I am having the same exact issue with ThemeRex Addon and Elementor.

Same issue. Anyone been been to find a solution yet?

I get
