problem with installing Proton theme on my site

hello!!
I bought the Proton theme a few days ago
and I’m trying to upload it

I’m actually working on Wordpress
but I want to create the site directly on my server FTP

When I tried in Wordpress to add
a new theme and tried to load Proton
it took at least almost an hour
and then he said this sentence:

Theme installation from uploaded file: themeforest-MDsIyvrr-proton-minimal-portfolio-theme.zip
Unpacking the package …

Installing the theme …

The package cannot be installed. The theme is missing the style.css style sheet.

Theme installation failed.

??

I don’t understand why it does that.
I work on Mac OS Sierra Version 10.12.6,
its not new, but I don’t think this is a problem

If anyone can give me your advice

Hi,

Make sure you select the “Installable WordPress file only” option. If you select “All files & documentation”, you will not be able to install this zip as is. Instead unzip the file and then locate the installable theme file within it. Luckily most developers clearly label their files, so it should be pretty easy to find.

Also you can unzip your purchased download (All files & documentation) and check the theme documentation hopefully you will get necessary support in documentation how to install and all necessary help.

If you have still problem with the theme then the best way to get the support is Contact your purchased Theme Author. Contact Author because Item Author are best expert about their Item functionality.

several days have passed

I will try to contact the author
and ask for support
I hope well, I wouldn’t want to have spent money
for nothing

you can contact theme author and they will give you same help link as I have given. because it has a simple fix. you are trying to install the full download (documentation, license, theme) where you should to install only the theme folder.

Make sure you select the “Installable WordPress file only” option. If you select “All files & documentation”, you will not be able to install this zip as is. Instead unzip the file and then locate the installable theme file within it. Luckily most developers clearly label their files, so it should be pretty easy to find.

I have now looked at the page of my Proton theme purchase,
but there are no descriptions you have listed …

So I don’t know what to do
all that remains is to ask them for help.

click on the download dropdown you will get options as I have given screenshot in my first reply.
download ‘Installable WordPress file only’ and try to install that one.

Or unzip the download you tried to install there you will find another zip named as like the theme name zip you have to install that one.

that was there, so maybe it’s my mistake
but I didn’t know about this thing and I thought it was enough just to click download.

Hello everybody,

I managed to install the Proton theme
under the advice of mgscoder. (thanks!!).

but now I have big problems
to work on the Proton theme.
I admit that I’m not a very good web designer
I am a 53 year old graphic designer, but as a web designer
I have little experience, I did a course on web desiger / Wordpress
but now I see that with Proton many things don’t turn good.

For example I can’t load well
my portfolio.
There are no right spaces between image and image
and everything stays at the top of the page near the menu and the header.

Also in the Home I do not understand how I can manage to load mine
images and make them interact with the portfolio
I have to say it’s not that easy to understand
even my web teacher gave us an eye
and she said it’s not easy

if anyone can give me some kind advice
I put the link of my site that I have
uploaded to my FTP server

I only did two test pages
and a page in the Portfolio

but I can’t even do
the footer with the social links attached

if anyone has a second of time
to give me some advice.
