The shills or misinformed will come out and tell you it was smart and fair move by Envato , when a blind man can see whats happening. pure and simple “greed” its not just the tax, i mean they take a dollar of the $7 then take half + plus tax. so a 7$ sale you get $2.07.

I got $4.39 from $12 item. Its almost 1/3. (India has 15% Tax Tready between US)

If I add my personal number (Lithuania) will it help? Also what’s the rate for Lithuania?
I used my UTR number and wasn’t taxed anything (0% tax treaty for UK)

Hard to say. You’d have to speak to a tax specialist to find out which number you need to enter, or find out what other people in your country have been using. You shouldn’t need to open a company to get a tax ID, usually you’ll just need to be registered as self-employed, or have some kind of tax ID number that the tax office use to identify you.

Other music libraries are bombed right now by new material because of this bad move by envato. Libraries that had 2-3 days delay of approval now needs 3-4 weeks because of the amount they got over a few past days. They mention it publicly to all the authors. Envato just shoot themselves into the foot. What’s the point of creating new tracks and uploading them here?

Authors who come from countries with no us tax treaty should protest and make a change or leave. There is no other option.
