Hi. I have recently my theme rejected too. In some ways it resembles yours. But your is better, I think.
At my point of view design is pretty simple. There are a lot of themes in the market with similar design. IMHO you should focus on more original approach making your next project. And don’t forget about code quality. Thanks.
