I was informed that our hosting platform is moving all users to PHP 8 this weekend. The theme I am using only is supported up to PHP 7.4. Is there a way to see what WordPress themes support PHP 8?
We need to upgrade our website this week.
There is currently no way how to know that information without asking an author of the theme, unless the author specifically mentions it in the item description.
You can do a search for “php 8”, but that is super unreliable. For example, I am stating the PHP 8 support in my items’ descriptions, but my themes are not listed for this search query anyway. So you will find only very few themes this way.
That said, any theme which is kept up to date should work with PHP 8. But always ask the author just to be sure before you buy.
