No hidden fees! It is described in the transaction itself. Even before you transfer the money to your bank, you will see how much it will cost you!
Example: you transfer $500 - the fee is $5!
You transfer $1,000 - the fee is $10. It says that the maximum transfer fee is 10 dollars! It now depends if your country has any additional requirements!!
PayPal is the worst service you can ever use to receive money. It is old, bugged and slow. It applies hidden fees in multiple situations. Use it only if you do not have any other method.
@ Schiocco
This is not true! PayPal is modernized, no hidden fees for 10 years and lightning fast you get your money in seconds!! I’m in Europe and everything you say is untrue! Unless your country falls under some special restrictions regime!! You only need to state your currency you will be working with and don’t use a conversion calculator!
Can’t agree with you. Depending on the country you’re sending the invoice ( Canada, EU, USA ) the total lost could go up to 10% in some cases. ( Hidden fees )
From Envato side, due to their agreement, if you have 100$ on the balance/transferred to your PayPal, you receive 100$ but you pay ~3% to get the money to your bank account as well as their exchange rates are horrrible.
@ ki-themes
Yes, the exchange rates are terrible, but no one is forcing you to use them.
You can refuse to exchange and get your money in dollars! I have been doing this for 10 years!
I’ve been using PayPal for 10 years now since I’ve been with Envato and for me the fee is like this! I haven’t paid a cent more than that!
I have opened a dollar account in my bank and I am taking dollars! I don’t use a PayPal converter!
Everyone can try it and see if it is profitable! As I understand, it is profitable for some and not for others!
@scarjoh
You can open an USD account and link it to the PayPal but you’d be paying 3% per commission/transaction fee to transfer the money to your USD bank account if you don’t want to exchange it there. If you exchange it there, you’d lose around the same amount, too
@Rembassio
Two years ago, it was working fine ( no charges to USD account ) but since then, they started to charge 3% to get the money.
If you receive 100$ from Envato ( no additional charges/cut/fee ) to transfer that amount to your bank account ( USD ) you’d need to pay 3% ( 3$ ), you’d be getting 97$.
For 1000$ the cost would be 30$
For 5000$ the cost would be 150$ - which it too much.
