Getting Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_FUNCTION in /wp-content/themes/jevelin/inc/init.php on line 29 while activating the jevelin theme. The site runs in shared hosting and cannot upgrade to the latest version of php. Can anyone help?

The author of the Jevelin theme is @Shufflehound and they are best suited to help you. However, from a quick look at their support forum, it seems this is likely an issue with your PHP version.
If you’re unable to upgrade I would personally advise finding a new host, but you can also try contacting the author directly for more options. Here’s their support page:
