That means you are not using a child theme, which is recommended every time you want to make custom changes to a theme. When you use a child theme, every time when the parent theme will be updated, the custom changes from child theme will not be lost.
You can create manually a child theme or if you wish a faster method, you can use a “child theme generator” plugin (search for these terms in WP admin Dashboard → Plugins → Add New → the search field) which will create a child theme for you automatically.
Just installed the child theme generator plug in, but everything still looks the same… do I need to something else to fix it?
After you generate a child theme, please make sure it’s selected as active. Navigate please to Appearance->Themes and check that the child theme is selected as active, not the parent one.
Clearly I’m not an expert, I’ve tried everything you told me to… but no success…
I’ve installed WP Child Theme Generator by WEN solutions
Is there anything else you know it’s ggod so I could try (plug in)
Thanks
