Need Suggestions With Ethnic Voices

Hi guys!

What are the best libraries for kontakt or stand alone plugin for ethnic vocals?
I mean those beautiful female african/asian warbles you can hear in some cinematic tracks.

I’ve heard something very nice from Sonokinetic (at a good price: 60 euro) but I don’t fully understand how much they are playable or editable because most of the contents are full songs.

Besides Sonokinetic is there something interesting to check out?

Thanks!

I have those Sonokinetics (the christmas sale was great!)

Yes there are some full songs, poets or whispers but also imporovisations in different scales and keys - a lot of material you can use!

I used it in some of my songs - i cant put the link here so go to my portfolio and search for a song “Take me there” and take a listen

And of course 8DIO have some great vocal libraries

CHA!

Awesome track! Yes that would be the use I have in mind, very subtle!

Hey Luca,

Voices Of Passion is great: http://www.soundsonline-europe.com/Voices-Of-Passion

Lots of great lines, warbles and phrases, only problem I’ve had on here is that I was asked to remove some “vocals” from a track I wrote as they were not in english when the track had used some of the vocal performances from the vst… Screwed up my track a bit having to remove it, so keep that in mind!

Very nice Graham!

Yeah totally recommend the Forest Kingdom Ethereal Voice…such a real feel to it and you can easily create your melodies with it. Nice one Graham! Here’s my Forest Kingdom stuff (Choir is from Olympus, Duduk from Desert Winds) :

Too bad it only sold once :frowning:

8Dio Forgotten Voices, as mentioned above a very good option, though it’s all phrases.

If you’re looking for Lord Of The Rings Celtic/Gaelic sounding vocals, check out Shevannai.

It’s a great product, all of Eduardo Tarilonte’s libraries are phenomenal. It has both phrases and multisampled legato.

Soundiron: Voices Of Gaia: Linda Strawberry is a FANTASTIC and highly flexible vocal library. Probably one of my favourite Soundiron purchases, I use it a lot.

They also have another product which is more classical called ‘Rapture’. Both these libraries have limited multisamples (playable) and a lot of phrases.

Finally, a library most won’t have heard of: Realivox ‘Ladies’.

http://realitone.com/realivox

In particular, Luca, check out the 2nd track ‘Desert Wail’. The legato in this library, especially when combined with reverb is VERY flexible. Also Mike Greene, the maker of the library gives great support to his customers so you can get the best out of the library. Realivox is not a phrase library.

Wohoo I’ve a lot of stuff to check out after lunch  Thank you all for your suggestions!

I guess we are all looking for the Lisa Gerrard Library. Just bought Shevanni and it is close but not quite.I remember there was a Vocaloid Miriam Stockley available some time ago. Has anyone used this as she has the most amazing voice - probably on a par as Lisa Gerrard. Having seen Lisa Gerrard live with the group Dead Can Dance one can stand in awe of these vocal artists who have managed to send goose pimples all over my body. I have digressed and I still yearn for that special vocal sound in a library. The 8DIO set is good - particularly Francesca for that ethnic hybrid sound. This was used in this:

I have listened to all of them and I liked all! but for now I’ll buy Francesca (bad sentence here :D) and next month Gaia Strawberry :inlove:

Excellent choice Luca! Let us know in this thread when your track is ready, would like to listen how “touchable” this library is. Good Luck ! Ciao

Hi Luca, I bought Shevannai yesterday and this is what I did with it so far:

Very atmospheric, Graham  I think I’ll purchase every library in this thread in the next months

Check Ethno World 5 Professional & Voices.

This also sounds very good!

I finally gave priority to madame Gaia Strawberry and I’m still downloading her with my super slow connection. I’m looking forward to hear her voice through my keyboard :chuckle:

Sorry just had to add this from Shevannai:

Ooooo…what’s for lunch?

If I have something musical in mind, my meals are always very fast :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m playing with Gaia Strawberry and I think it’s a fantastic library! I’ll post my work on soundcloud as soon as I finish it

Graham, nice whispered underscore!

It may be a little too dark for AJ but I like it for Horror, Dark and Suspense!
