Need Feedback: Why Was My WooCommerce Plugin Hard Rejected?

Hi Envato community,

I hope you’re doing well.
I’ve recently submitted my plugin “Auto Smart Coupon – WooCommerce Coupon Generator” to CodeCanyon, but unfortunately, it was rejected without specific feedback. The email I received was the standard message stating:

“Thank you for your submission. We have completed our review of ‘Auto Smart Coupon – WooCommerce Coupon Generator’ and unfortunately we found it isn’t at the quality standard required to move forward, and you won’t be able to re-submit this item again.”

I completely understand and respect the need for high standards, but the lack of detailed feedback makes it very hard to know what I need to improve.

I’ve put a lot of work into this plugin, and I genuinely believe it could be valuable to many WooCommerce users. I would be extremely grateful if anyone could take a look at the landing page and demo, and let me know what might be lacking or what needs to be improved in order to meet the CodeCanyon standards.

Any feedback related to design, code structure, UX, documentation, uniqueness, or anything else that might be the reason for hard rejection would be greatly appreciated. I’m open to revising and rebuilding whatever is needed.

Thanks in advance for your time and support!

Best regards,
Mahmood

Hard rejections can be tough! From my experience, it usually comes down to code quality, UI/UX, or missing documentation. Try validating with Envato’s guidelines and maybe share a demo — the community can offer more targeted feedback.

Hi there! I appreciate you sharing your plugin, and I can see there’s been significant work put into it based on the number of settings available. Here’s some friendly feedback that might help improve your presentation:

Demo & Presentation Issues:

  1. The screenshots could be larger and clearer - it’s hard to understand how the plugin works at first glance. Consider adding more detailed visuals or even a quick video walkthrough.
  2. There are some design inconsistencies in the demo itself - like the black logo on dark blue background, and the typography/fonts seem to jump around a bit.
  3. When I logged into the demo, it was completely empty with no sample coupons to explore. This makes it really difficult to understand what the plugin actually does and its value proposition. Adding some sample data would go a long way!

General UX Suggestions: The interface could benefit from being more streamlined and professional-looking. Maybe fewer animations and a more subdued color palette, though I know design preferences can be subjective.

Overall Thoughts: From what I can see with all those configuration options, you’ve clearly put in serious development work and know your stuff technically. The issue seems to be more about how the work is presented rather than the quality of the code itself.

I’m actually in a similar boat - strong on the development side but always struggling with design and presentation. Have you considered partnering with a UI/UX designer, or maybe investing some time in improving those skills? It could really make your excellent technical work shine.

Hope this helps, and good luck with your plugin!

The way the reveiew process works is not good at all, they shuld have the decency to write a few words at least you know what you did wrong…
