Need advise on screencast software for video tutorials

Hi guys, new to the community. Happy New Year to you all. Looking for advise on cost effective screencast software. Any suggestions based on experience is welcomed. thanks

I use screencast-o-matic

Only used it to make my videos for the ‘how to’ competition, so I’ve not used it that much, but it seems to do everything I need. Free version to try, $15 a year version for no watermarks and unlimited recording time.

Thanks so much SpaceStock, Really appreciate your response. I have looked at screen-o-matic. I am looking more for stand alone software that requires no internet connection to function. Cheers

Didn’t realise it needed an internet connection to work, although I have only used it while I’ve been connected to the internet!

Screencast-O-Matic was my first choice, but there are too many limitations for it. So, I use ShowMore screen recorder instead for recording, it’s totally free and does not have time limitation in recording. It also supports video editing.

just get obs

I have not tried ScreenCast but have used other web video conferencing tools like webex, gomeetnow, gotomeeting, R-HUB web video conferencing servers etc. and they all work well. Will try screencast and let you know my reviews.
