They’re ‘big icons’ rather than logos… and they represent ‘things’ rather than businesses.

It’s an icon of an item, with the name of the item underneath it. Sure, it could be said that most logos are icons with a related name under them, but I think there’s a subtle difference between the two which I think you’re missing here. I could be wrong!
