Music Gen AI discussion

Somewhat related to this thread. I just saw an ad on Facebook for Envato. They were advertising their generative AI. For images, videos and… music. Several customers commented that the music generating AI was their strongest asset. So it looks like it is up and running. For some reason, Music Gen AI is missing for me, but it looks like it is available for many people already.
We are no longer needed.

AI companies always need fresh input for their models. So please, keep uloading new tracks.

Many authors have opted out of feeding AI. If it turns out our assets were indeed used for training, then there’s potentially a massive class action coming.

I opted out of feeding AI - I am very wary of this topic.

Also opted out. The feature is available for subscribers only though:

the client pays money for a subscription and the ability to generate any audio // in our case // - the question is, what does he really get?
N number of credits, and many hours of headache and searching from various options, with relatively poor sound quality
or
can he choose, like in the good old days, already mixed, cut into several versions of ready-made music in good quality?
I would choose the second option and I am talking only about music

Well, yes, some folks may still want human music, but many others just don’t care. And don’t forget they won’t have to deal with Content Id.

Just kidding, but TBH, for me it’s not really users preferences I’d be worried about, but more about the choices and direction Envato’s clearly taking.

Also, like the song above says: what even happens with CID when a track is AI-generated? Feels like copyrights are just gonna be bypassed completely.

Itiswhatitism.

It’s clear where Envato is heading! They want to reduce expenses and increase income, by any means, including AI, elements and everything that will help reduce expenses. After all, you have to pay for using servers, clouds, etc., it’s much more convenient to buy a server tailored for AI tasks and become a little independent from the authors - “Authors who always need something, always whine that they don’t have enough money” // this is a joke

If it’s advertised as new feature and it was trained on assets of those who not opted out, so, when to expect our payments? @BenLeong, any ideas or explanation? Thanks in advance

He’s going to learn without us anyway. And draw and write music and make videos. I made over $500 on the P5 last year. On this. I don’t see any point in losing money…

For 500$ a year? Good for you..

Money don’t lie on the road… Considering that nothing else is for sale there.

It is already used by other AI companies without my agreement, so it’s inevitable. At least in the case of Envato, it is promised that it could be used in ethical AI projects, so there is a possibility of compensation. I’m open to new opportunities—as an author, I will continue to make music better and better, and 100% better than AI. So, let’s see.

It’s very different things. I am still thinking there will be always demand for human maid art.
