For those who were impacted by this issue, M-Audio have released drivers for OSX Mavericks (although my midisport worked under Mavericks on old drivers). Haven’t tested it with Yosemite yet but link to new drivers is here:

You should be ok running Logic 9 on Mavericks. Not sure about Yosemite. But proceed with caution

I moved to Logic X a while ago and find it excellent. Had no compatibility issues (other than one detailed in this thread). Good luck mate.
