I need a Wordpress plugin that swaps one image for another on hover/mouseover.

A fade transition between the two images would be ideal.

Responsive design is a must.

(All I can find are plugins that create text or color transitions.)

Did you ever find a solution to this? I’m looking for the exact same thing and have been through hundreds of text hover plugins but can’t find one to simply change the image to another image.
