Congratulations to all the developers who made their HTML5 Ads!

I have one suggestion for the people who uploaded a Live Preview, I think is a really bad idea to show the live preview, basically you are uploading and giving all your HTML and the assets to anyone, they just need to copy and paste it on Google Web Designer, it will be better to upload a Video of the Ad. That’s my humble opinion.

That’s the same risk like with themeforest html5 templates with HTML5 live previews…

I have seen very often buyers saying that if the title of the item says something with HTML5 and they open the preview but they don’t see a HTML5 demo, they usually close the window.

The contest is useless because most of users now have ADblock software installed. Ty that on any AD block software and you will see how it goes° :wink:

i wanna make the animations infinite loop, but if i do that they loop too fast any way that i can delay them or like start them over, just like i would refresh the page?

I use AdBlock in Firefox and still the ads can be seen. Do you have a more specific example?

At the beginning of the ad, create a label named, let’s say “start_frame”. Then go at the end of your ad and create a Timeline event GoToAndStop (you’ll find it in the list that opens up) and when you are asked the label to go to, enter “start_frame”. Then, again at the beginning of the ad, create a custom event in which you just put a javascript delay, let’s say 5 seconds: setTimeout(’’, 5000);

hey, unfortunatly i cant seem to find gotoandstop in the list, i created a label then went to the end of the ad and created a timeline but i couldn’t find gotoandstop, i found gotoandpause and gotoandplay,

I continue with the same problem images. My Reviewer said that my pictures do not appear to him, but here always appears all normal. Please check:

I can see the pictures without problems.

Maybe send a comment to the reviewer and ask him if he can consult with another reviewer the same issue and send him this thread, so they can read that we were able to see the images.

Try to attach the icon and the preview inside the zip file too, and tell him that in case he can’t see the images they are inside the zip file.

Everything always appear normal for me and for the viewer. I think the problem may be in my account, perhaps …

The Reviewer asked to see support if something’s wrong with my account. I opened a ticket, I’ll wait to see if you have any.

This Google Web Designer is a joke. It should be alpha, not beta. It has LOTS of bugs and made me waste a lot of time. For example one problem is that the in-editor preview was working great and displayed everything as it should, but in the browser preview everything got messed up.

Another problem is that I have spent like 4-5 hours working on an complex ad animation, everything was great yesterday when I saved the file. Now when I opened it to continue working the Preview is not working anymore (blank page) and when I click Publish it says “Publish has failed” without giving a reason. What’s more annoying is that the ad works perfectly inside the editor, but the Preview/Publish buttons (which worked as expected yesterday) are bugged now…

Ignoring the fact the this tool lacks a lot of basic features (pan the work even if panning exceeds current canvas size, duplicate an animation, be able to go “inside” a div from the layers panel, etc…)

Yes, for making a square go from point A to point B and showing some text it works pretty good. But God, when you try doing that with two squares this whole GWD thing goes crazy. It’s a shame Google doesn’t bother to update more often this tool, which can become an amazing one if the bugs are fixed.

I have to agree… it can be a nightmare from time to time.

I also wonder about the file sizes… it’s often beyond the regular ad sizes out there.

Hey there.

I wanted to participate in the contest, but got hard reject 2 times. Both times it was a standard description (…This item has a nice concept, but doesn’t feature the required aesthetics to be approved as a premium item…).

Now I do not have time to wonder what is wrong and fix it. Therefore, I decided to publish free for you my work, maybe someone it seems useful.

Hi greenline,

It is really helpful but I am facing a problem with “setTimeout” . The loop is working well but the delay is not working. maybe i am missing something in setTimeout.

Here is the code I am trying in the event at the beginning of the ad.
Can you please help me?
