This event is now over. Winners announced!

Envato's Most Wanted - HTML5 Games

We've put $4,000 bounty on the heads of Envato's most wanted file type - HTML5 Games on CodeCanyon.

How do you collect? Submit a HTML5 game template between June 20th and August 8th and you will enter into the many chances to win to a cash prize! Here's everything we are giving away:

  • Most Innovative Game: $500
  • Best Sports Game: $500
  • Best Adventure Game: $500
  • Best Puzzle Game: $500
  • Best Word Game: $500
  • Best Casino Game: $500
  • Best Strategy Game: $500
  • Best Educational Game: $500

Please note: Only full game templates with playable live previews will be considered for eligibility. Prizes are only awarded to items that are worthy contenders of the prize category. Our decision on whether items meet the prize criteria are final as per the contest terms and conditions. Also if only one entry exists in a ‘Best Category’ this does not automatically mean winning a prize. Final eligibility of prizes determined by Envato Staff. For example, a game deemed too basic might not be worthy of a prize.

Can we create games with Pure JS ? I couldn’t notice to see all those construct 2 tutorials. Seems like a fun thing to do

Of course Vanilla JS is allowed  It just states that you can use Construct if you want.

I also prefer coding it directly, not using “game makers”.
See you in August

Good luck all!

LE: I think by Pure JS you meant Vanilla JS not purejs.org

If it has to be a game template, can the customization be by code with documentation or does there have to be a html form interface?

I hope that Phaser is allowed?

Game template have to allow customization with documentation or not?

@Antzimoon, How is phaser.io compared to EaselJS or ImpactJS?

I don’t know because I know only Phaser at this moment. In my opinion Phaser have nice documentation and code written in it looks not bad.

Customization by code is fine, however if you feel that some form of browser interface to help buyers customise would improve the quality of the item & chances of winning a prize, then go for it!

Awesome! Is this only open to games, or would game engines qualify as well?

Are Impact JS games allowed? I have an HTML5 game developed with the Impact JS engine that i would like to submit.

we can’t wait to see this! Awesome contest!
here’s some suggestions if I may…

• Game using or integrated with Google Mapping API

• Game using Camera or Mic (this may be a great challenge as I believe only acces through cameras is currently flash based. I hope to stand corrected here) or

• That truly increases IQ. Is there a doctor in the house!?

Apologies for the delay in responding to the questions about game frameworks. Hope to have an answer to these queries soon.

Happy you like the game!
Sounds are currently disabled on mobile devices because we can’t grant full compatibility on all mobile devices but this feature can be easily enabled setting a variable in config file.

How about my Thimblerig game? Huh!?

Looks nice, but how is this a HTML5 game? I think this contest only refers to canvas games.
