Layered Vectors

I was checking the upload section for vectors and under Category & Attributes it asks whether the vector is layered. Aren’t vectors made using Adobe Illustrator automatically layered when grouped? I was hoping someone could confirm this for me. Thank you in advance.

Elements are, yes in a sense auto layered. They are generally separable even if not designed to be through their creation. When shapes are created they may appear on the same layer but are automatically organised into sub-layers as shapes / paths by the software. Editable and useful items are encouraged by the marketplace. It is possible to collapse / combine elements from multiple shapes / paths into a single object, and therefore removing edibability, but this is the exception rather than the norm. So in general yes, you can expect layered or at least individually editable elements in all vector files for sale here.

Thank you for the reply, I really appreciate it.
