Hello everyone,

I’m looking for an experienced developer familiar with the Karenderia system to make advanced modifications. The goal is to adapt the system to operate in a franchise model, allowing multiple restaurants/franchisees to work under centralized management.

Required Skills

The ideal candidate should have proven experience in:
• PHP: Essential for customizing Karenderia’s code.
• MySQL: Ability to modify or create database tables and queries.
• HTML, CSS, and JavaScript: For customizing layouts and user interfaces in the system and app.
• Payment Gateway APIs: Integration with payment gateways (preferably popular options in Portugal, such as Multibanco and MB WAY).
• Mobile Frameworks (Optional): For deeper customizations to the app.
• Multi-Store Systems: Experience in structuring systems with multi-level management is highly valued.

Required Modifications

  1. Multi-Level Administration

    • Franchisor Panel: Create a global admin panel for the franchisor to view and manage:
    • Consolidated sales reports from all franchisees.
    • General settings applicable to all restaurants (such as franchise fees, branding, etc.).
    • Control over franchisee permissions and access.
    • Franchisee Panel: Set up independent panels for each restaurant, restricted to:
    • Managing menus and prices.
    • Handling orders and deliveries.
    • Viewing individual sales reports.

  2. Centralized Reporting

    • Develop detailed reports for the franchisor, including:
    • Total revenue (broken down by restaurant/franchisee).
    • Royalties generated by each unit.
    • Performance statistics for specific areas.

  3. Exclusive Operation Areas

    • Configure the system to assign specific operation zones to each franchisee (based on postal codes or regions).
    • Restrict orders in each zone to the designated restaurant.

  4. Royalty and Franchise Fee Calculation

    • Implement an automated system to calculate and deduct royalties based on each restaurant’s revenue.
    • Reports detailing the total franchise fees owed.

  5. Mobile App Customization

    • Modify the mobile app to allow customers to:
    • Automatically identify available restaurants based on their location.
    • Display franchise branding in the app.

  6. Additional Features

    • Customize templates to include franchise branding (logo, colors, etc.).
    • Improve the process for registering new franchisees (optional).

Please note that the prices on sites like CodeCanyon or ThemeForest are a fraction of the actual development cost. The true cost to develop these items is often 100 times more than the listed price. If you expect to get custom work for that low price, it’s simply not realistic. Developing items for Envato platforms involves significant time, effort, and resources, and authors recover these costs through multiple sales.

Why would you not start by asking the author? No one is going to know it better than them.

That said, without looking at the starting point in more detail I would expect you to be looking at tens of thousands of $ to do all of this esp if you are doing it to earn from through franchises

Thank you for your feedback. I understand your point, and I have already contacted the author, Basti, about this. He has quoted approximately $1,000 for the modifications but mentioned he wouldn’t be available to start before June 2025.

While I am exploring alternatives to move forward sooner, I’d appreciate further insights. Could you elaborate on why you believe the cost would be in the tens of thousands? Are there specific challenges or requirements you think might significantly increase the cost?
