Welcome to the forums! Actually this theme doesn’t really use images as navigation, it’s just pure text with background image added in CSS code.

If you feel comfortable enough with code editing, use a simple line image as a background and place it at the bottom of div that contains the text. Otherwise you may be interested in hiring a professional from Envato studio:
