Introducing WordPress and Annual Subscriptions on Envato Elements

I really can’t see why anyone would sign in to this…can we get some reviews from users to have signed in to this?

Let’s see what happens when the subscribers needs Wordpress themes/plugins support… It’s not included in Elements and they don’t say it clearly.

Still waiting for a reply!

Did you see Matthew’s response to a bunch of questions, including yours, 7 days ago?

Actually, Matthew ignored the most important questions.

Questions can get lost in the noise. Anything specific you wanted answering?

All the main concerns were ignored.

Just as an example: everyone is asking why the early adopters won’t be able to switch back to their monthly plan at $19/m rate if they upgrade now.

At the end, there are so many complaints about the quality of themes and plugins available on Elements that I don’t care anymore. There are better places to acquire great Wordpress themes and plugins with support.

I won’t lie mate I just don’t understand why a business like this would go from hero to zero for a lot of users over something so small. It’s all about being clear and good communications to explain a few things. Not that dude saying im here to answer questions in a non diplomatic way that guy is annoying people by not really answering the questions.

I’m absolutely gutted they have let us down so bad, shame on the people who put this in place and I would say it was a launch fail. Reputation in the long run is better than ruining it for a quick cash injection.

That offer was open to new users also, who were not able to get the $19 rate except on a yearly plan. I imagine if you wanted to get into Elements and weren’t in the beta it sounded pretty good and people probably signed up for it. What it wasn’t a good deal for was existing Envato Elements members. I didn’t see any reason to jump to a yearly plan for the WordPress items, as others have said, it’s pretty worthless without support, and it was never clear what the support policy was for those items. It sounds like there is none.

I was perfectly happy with the $19 monthly plan for graphic items and still am, that’s a pretty huge deal. I really don’t think adding Word Press Themes and Plugins was thought through well. It doesn’t appear to add much value on the whole the way it is set up.

@kkick @LittleDesigneruk
They won’t answer because there are not any reasonable justification for this behaviour and it’s too late to change it now.

I am editing this so that it doesn’t get deleted.

I am bumping the thread since it is awaiting a reply from @matthewcoxy or the Envato team. My previous 2 comments were deleted. Hopefully this comment isn’t deleted like the last 2.

Your previous two comments just said ‘bump’, which adds no value to the thread… changing the order in which this thread appears in the list isn’t going to achieve what you’re hoping for. So I can understand why they were deleted.

Your third comment is also an attempt to bump the thread, but seeing that you address it to a specific person, and explain why it is you’re bumping the thread… that’ll be why it wasn’t deleted.

I thought that you could download WordPress Themes from elements only if you paid for annual subscription. It seems this is not the case anymore. https://elements.envato.com/pricing
It’s kind of unfair for ThemeForest authors, don’t you think? Lots of themes for just $29 (cheaper than a single theme on ThemeForest).

I looked back on my emails and my welcome email clearly states, “Full Library Access” and “As a subscriber, you get access to all new content at no extra cost.” How do you explain this? Also, since the monthly plan now includes Wordpress, why doesn’t my subscription? I am on monthly and I have been here from the start.

Hi @kkick - if you open an Elements Help Ticket with our support team, they should be able to help you out.

The Elements team is continually running short-term tests to continue optimising the product for customers and authors. We need to find the right balance between making the right content types and pricing available, to provide the best value to customers, and also to provide the best return to authors. There are a few user tests currently in progress, and the details of these aren’t announced in order to maintain the integrity of those tests. Any ongoing changes to pricing or content types will be announced to the community, though.

Hey @BenLeong,
I was informed by support this morning that there is nothing they will do. This is disappointing since I was part of the early adopter pricing. Are you able to assist further? The ticket number is 23789 and I have been working with Syn.

My welcome email also said the same thing. I’m also disappointed that they’ve ignored the early adopters… We took a chance and helped support this platform from the beginning by investing in it in exchange for what was promised (Full Library Access and future wordpress themes)… I honestly wish I would’ve just waited if I would’ve known they planned for an Annual subscription that would result in the same discounted payments PLUS wordpress themes. I could’ve saved money when I didn’t really need graphical elements at the time.

Lesson learned, I guess.

Can we get a response from Envato? It’s pretty clear that this was false advertising.
